Springboard offer Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT. Functional Skills are designed to equip learners with the practical skills needed to live, learn and work successfully. Functional Skills also gives learners the ability to apply these skills effectively to a range of purposes in the workplace and in other real life situations.

Who are these courses for?
These courses are designed for those individuals that are returning to study after a break and those who have just left school, that would like or will need to upskill in English/Maths, and those that require Functional Skills to be able to progress to further study and education.
What do you need to apply for the courses?
You do not need any official qualifications. You will need to complete a diagnostic assessment to confirm your strengths and areas of improvements.
What are the key things you’ll learn? During this course you will learn:
- Reading comprehension
- Writing for purpose
- Speaking and listening skills
- Converting units of measure
- Extract and interpret information form data
How will you learn?
You will be taught through classroom sessions, practical activities, group work and on-going assessments.
Where could this course take you?
After successfully completing one functional skills course, you could progress to the next level and even on to GCSE courses.
