“I left school not knowing what I really wanted to do so I took a chance and joined Springboard. On Study Programme I met Gemma. She helped and supported me through my Level 1 Health and Social Care and soon enough I was on placement at Sycamore Care Centre. The care home offered me an apprenticeship and I jumped at the chance because I really loved caring for elderly people. I realised quickly that this is what I wanted to do. Ashley, my mentor helps me in the care home and Gemma supports me through a Diploma. I love that I have 1 lesson every fortnight in Springboard where all apprentices get together and share experiences. It helps me so much with learning and the support is fab.”
