Social Enterprise project branches out!

23 Mar 2020

Our Social Enterprise course has recently welcomed a new course tutor, John Fagan. John has worked at Springboard on other projects but recently rejoined us to head up the Social Enterprise Project. Injecting new life into the course, last week John kept learners busy by creating these new wooden log storers.

Social Enterprise is a programme of engagement for learners in Durham and the surrounding areas for those aged 16-24 (19-24 with an EHCP). Students will learn and progress in a nurturing and inspirational work like environment, using a variety of resources to support each learners individual needs. Social Enterprise is an opportunity for learners to obtain new skills appropriate to their future, including further development of their English and maths understanding. The programme also helps learners socialise in a safe and structured environment with their peers.

Social Enterprise is about creating or upcycling innovative products to sell on to the general public. We currently produce our own items and are always on the look out for more projects and we are happy to take orders from businesses and individuals. Profits are reinvested into the project or into work towards our mission statement within the c

harity, to support ongoing projects and developments.
