The current development of the IAMP (International Advanced Manufacturing Park) is creating a huge range of opportunities in the sector. Our Warehousing and Manufacturing programme covers all aspects of the distribution and warehousing process which includes forklift truck operations, health and safety training as well as acquiring a CSCS card. You will learn product assembly, processing and packaging, all which allows you to gain the essential skills required for this rapidly expanding sector in the North East.
Our Warehousing and Manufacturing course is delivered from our Jarrow site in Bede Industrial Estate. Partnerships with local employers ensure you have access to work experience placements, real time job vacancies and interview and application support.
Level 1 Award in Warehousing and Storage
Our Level 1 Award in Warehousing and Storage is a hands on qualification which covers the following units; health and safety in the workplace, maintaining the cleanliness of equipment in logistics operations, keeping stock at required levels, keeping work areas clean, moving and handling goods, picking, wrapping and packing goods, operating equipment to perform work requirements, receiving goods, maintaining hygiene standards, assembling orders for dispatch and more.
Level 2 Award in Forklift Truck Operations
Our Level 2 Award in Forklift Truck Operations equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively work in a warehousing or distribution environment where they are responsible for Forklift Truck Operations. This qualification also supports learners wanting to develop to lead a team or go into a supervisory role in a warehousing, storage and distribution environment. This course covers the preparation and operation of forklift trucks, including the loading and unloading of goods, positioning of loads for driving and also covers the health and safety requirements and wider industry features of the logistics sector.

Entry Level – No previous qualifications are required for this programme, however, a pre-course interview will be required before a place is offered.
